African Black Soap - Liquid
Our African Black Soap is sourced from Ghana and contains saponified: shea nut butter, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and cocoa pod ash. It contains 50% shea butter and is 100% natural.
Black Soap has been used for centuries in Africa. It is typically made by local women, and then is either traded for other goods or sold for currency in order to help support their villages.
This particular recipe is handcrafted from shea butter, coconut, and palm kernel oils. Saponification is provided by adding cocoa pod ashes to the hot oils, then cooking the soap for many hours. The soap is then poured and left to dry and cure in the sun for weeks. We convert this soap into a liquid, then enhance it with natural skin conditioners. The result is a super creamy, luxurious body wash that leaves your skin crazy soft, and ultra nourished thanks to the naturally high levels of vitamins A, E, and several minerals. Many people use it to treat/soothe eczema, and body acne.
This soap creates an amazing lather when used with a nylon bath "poof". A little goes a long way.
